In this paper, we introduce one of them, Matsuyama Studies. Students in this subject learn about the society,　economy, culture and lifestyle of the Matsuyama area ―Matsuyama, where the college is located, and its surrounding　cites of Iyo, Toon, Kumakogen, Masaki, and Tobe. The subject is intended to develop a sense of ownership among the students by learning about studying them and their challenges from people who work at　Matsuyama City Hall and　local companies and organization.　This paper describes the background of Matsuyama Studies and its present contents.
